Course Outline:

Day 1
We start of with an introduction to PowerShell V 3.0, where we focus on innovations and improvements. During the day we also take a close look at PowerShell ISE and learn how we can use ISE to optimize the use of Windows PowerShell V 3.0. We will also learn how to use modules and how to manage Windows 8 Servers using PowerShell V 3.0.

Day 2
Here we focus on WMI and CIM. To begin with, we'll look at what WMI is, cmdlets that we can use, what WQL is and how we can create WMI events. We'll also take a deep-dive into CIM and CDXML.

Day 3
We start the day with a closer look at how Workflows function in PowerShell V 3.0. We'll start of by focusing on short running workflows followed by workflows that execute over an extended period of time. We'll also take a close look at the various parameters that are supported by workflows in PowerShell and how the underlying technology works.

Day 4
This day revolves around remoting and WinRM 3.0. We look at how remoting works, look at remoting profies, remoting the public cloud vs remoting to private cloud, and take a deep dive into the improvements in PowerShell V 3.0.

Day 5
The last day focuses on how PowerShell V 3.0 integrates with Web-based applications. We'll take a look at REST services and how you can use JSON in PowerShell. We'll also set up a web service by using Odata IIS extension that is available in Windows 8.
